Home Grown Logo

It's a piece of corn, and a smiling face.

Font Fun

  1. Dubtronic fits shape well because all of the letter forms are obvious shapes with a minimal amount of negative space subtracted to create the letter
  2. Form refers to something that is three-dimensional, so i needed to find a font with depth. Umbra was a nice choice because it has depth, but isn't alarming like most three dimensional fonts.
  3. A font representing function needs to serve a purpose. The font Wilhelm Klingspor Gotisch is a gothic/black letter font which immediately communicates a medieval feel, functioning as reminder of a time period.
  4. Instead of basing my choice for color on, solely colors, i instead used the word colorful as a guide for finding a font. Zebrawood, although pretty cheesy, is very colorful. When looking at this font i can imagine a circus, or circus colors very easily. It has a bright personality.
  5. Sculptural was somewhat difficult to assign a personality to. The font Clutchee works well though because of the grooves in the letters which have sculpture-esque qualities.
  6. A sexy font to me is one that is flowing and slender, and possibly round. Riesling fit the bill perfectly. The "S" especially says sexy to me because of its circular shape.
  7. Trajan Pro was an easy choice for powerful. The absence of lowercase letters combined with a thin sans serif font makes a bold statement.

Here's a really awesome trailer for an upcoming festival this summer. Hate to use this word, but the video is sort of "adorable". Fun to watch. Enjoy!

Impressive and Creative Logos

These are some logos i have been looking at while i create my logo. Very inspiring and clever.
I pulled these from a couple websites. Stumble Upon is also a great resource if your looking for random inspiration.

Mood Images

Here's a snapshot of some of the basic imagery I've been pulling off the net to aid in my logo progress.

Then and Now

So here's a drawing a did of (myself) freshman year, and a quick sketch i did a couple of days ago. Enjoy!
